The very popular Vintage Used Jewelry Sale returns to the CoBACH Center after an absence of several years. The jewelry sale is the main fundraiser for the historical society. The volunteer trio of Judith Coebly, Vicki Vichich, and Sue Zimmermann work all year doing intake, repairs, research and packaging for the (9) day sale.
An extensive collection of over 5000 pieces of jewelry consisting of both costume and fine pieces will find new homes this spring. You will find bracelets, necklaces, rings, watches, and earrings that are priced to sell. We would like all jewelry to be sold! Great deals for upcoming proms, including Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.
The jewelry sale, as always, will occur during Downtown Ladies Night which is anticipated to be Thursday, May 2. The society is looking forward to all the anxious shoppers who were unable to participate during the last several years due to health concerns. The new downtown Main Street Streetscape improvements will get another opportunity to showcase the quality upgrades as
pedestrians shop and dine and have a fun-filled evening!
If you have jewelry to donate for the sale please contact Jim. The Brighton Area Historical Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and 509(a)2 public charity organization. Your donations may be tax deductible!

The City of Brighton Art, Culture and History (CoBACH) Center will offer a unique American Flag educational experience on Sunday, June 9. There will be multiple presentations during the peri-od from 11am through 4pm and the doors will remain open through 5 pm. This program is sponsored by The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War Gilluly/Kingsley Camp #120, Howell, Michigan.
Short informal (45) minute presentations including flag educational exhibits will cycle from 11am through 4pm. The program will explore the unique evolution and symbolism of American flags, including laws, design, construction, artistry, and folklore with occasional trivia questions. Each presentation will feature historic flags from the Civil War through World War II.
The goal of the sponsor is for community members to discover and learn about our flag’s history because they believe it’s past is worth preserving. After each presentation children will receive several take home educational, flag oriented meeting gifts as supplies last.
Please bring your children so they can learn our flag’s history!
