Artist: Lisa DeLuca, lisadelucafineart.com
Lisa DeLuca is an award winning Michigan artist whose love for interpreting nature on canvas began as far back as kindergarten, where she remembers drawing trees and animals for her classmates.
Growing up in Detroit and then later moving to Brighton, has given this prolific painter a diverse cultural foundation to glean from when cultivating ideas for her artwork.
Lisa’s nature-inspired vibrant and colorful images, as well as her animal portraits, almost always begin with a few simple lines on paper and then she transfers her ideas to canvas where they take on a life of their own. Lisa also works from photographs she had taken herself and sometimes paints “plein air” if the subject matter dictates.
Educated at Eastern Michigan University, Lisa holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (BFA) as well as a Michigan teaching certificate for art, grades k-12.
Lisa has artwork in permanent collections at the 1st National Bank in Howell and the Chelsea Community Hospital Emergency Services Department, as well as numerous private collections throughout Michigan, Illinois, Arizona and Florida.
Lisa is a member of the Brighton Art Guild (BAG) and the Ann Arbor Women Artists (AAWA)
